Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research is establishing Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre in collaboration with Needy Heart Foundation (NHF) and Bangalore Indiranagar Rotary Trust (BIRT) in the Hospital Premises. The Total cost of the Project is Rs. 5.00 Crores. Needy Heart Foundation and BIRT is sponsoring Rs. 2.00 Crores and remaining Rs. 3.00 Crores is borne by the Institute. According to Dr. C.N.Manjunath, Director, the Construction is in progress and it will be completed by March 2018. NHF Chairman - Mr. O.P. Khanna, District Governor - Mr. H.R. Ananth, Chairman CRC Project - Mr. Amarnath Tandon with other Rotarians recently visited the construction site.
This Centre will address Post Cardiac Treatment protocols including Exercise Program, physical activity, Counseling, importance of follow up visits, wound care and hygiene, optimal control of Diabetes, Hypertension, proper medication compliance, Dietary management and various precautionary measures. All OPD follow up investigations will also be done under one roof only. Patient Educative Videos / Posters and other materials highlighting the importance of prevention of heart diseases is a part of this program.
In the main centre, as all the consultants are busy with patient care/operations/interventions, it is difficult to give sufficient time to clarify patient doubts and many unanswered questions. Rehabilitation Centre will have dedicated team of Doctors, Dieticians, Physiotherapists, Yoga Therapists etc. to address all these issues, which will sustain the results of various procedures they have undergone. This will boost the confidence level, improve quality of life, reduce mental stress and they can get back to work as early as possible, said Dr. C.N.Manjunath.
